Years after that unforgettable Christmas Eve, The Polar Express 2 (2026) returns to the magical railway for a new journey about growing up, rediscovering wonder, and remembering the power of belief. The Boy, now a teenager, has begun drifting away from the childhood magic that once filled his world. Christmas no longer feels quite as mysterious, and the impossible seems easier to dismiss.
Then, one night, a golden ticket appears.
Its arrival brings back a memory he thought he had outgrown and summons him aboard the Polar Express for what may be one final journey into the heart of Christmas. The legendary train has changed with time, its carriages grander and more magical than before, but its purpose remains the same: reminding those who travel aboard that some things can only be seen when you choose to believe.
This time, the Boy is joined by Eliot and his younger sister Lucy, two new passengers facing their own emotional crossroads.
Their journey takes them beyond the North Pole and into mysterious lands hidden from ordinary travelers—icy forests, celestial bridges, and ancient realms where forgotten Christmas magic still survives.
Tom Hanks returns as the voice of a wise new conductor who guides the children through a world filled with breathtaking wonders and unexpected dangers. But something darker is waiting beyond the familiar railway. A mysterious force has begun threatening the world’s ability to experience joy, wonder, and belief.
With the legendary silver bell serving as their guide, the children must work together to restore the light of Christmas before it disappears forever.
Blending heartfelt storytelling, spectacular animation, fantasy adventure, and timeless holiday emotion, The Polar Express 2 is a story about growing up without losing the part of yourself that still believes in impossible things.
